JMCC Adult Education Program

ABOUT US

Welcome to the Jackson/Mann Community Center! JMCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Since 1976, we’ve been a hub for the Allston/Brighton community, dedicated to supporting everyone, especially those with limited resources. Our mission is to lift up our community through education, culture, social activities, and recreation. Our center is a partnership between the Jackson/Mann Community School and Council and Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF). Together, we offer an array of programs and services.

Our Adult Education Program has grown and adapted over the years to meet the needs of our diverse community. We’re proud to say that 95% of our students are immigrants from over 20 different countries, with various educational backgrounds. Many of our students didn’t finish high school, and we’re here to help change that. We offer two main programs: our ESOL program with seven levels of English instruction, and our Adult Secondary Education program with two levels of HiSET preparation. Our goal is to help you gain the skills you need for further education, training, or a job that supports your family.

We have supported and guided our students through the process of entering college and job training programs as well as securing better jobs. We aim to make success stories like these a common reality for all our students.

Join us and take the first step towards a brighter future!
