We’re excited to welcome you to the HiSET Preparation Program at the Jackson/Mann Community Center! Whether you’re looking to earn your high school equivalency or prepare for further education and career opportunities, our program is here to support you every step of the way.
Class Schedule
- Mondays and Wednesdays
- 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

We offer two levels of HiSET Preparation classes to meet you where you are in your learning journey. All our classes are offered at no-cost to students. When you apply, you’ll take a placement test consisting of 25 multiple-choice reading questions, 25 math questions, and one essay. This helps us place you in the level that’s right for you. Since enrollment is dependent on seat availability, if we’re full, we’ll add you to our waitlist. The good news is our program has open enrollment, so you can start at any time of the year!
Class Format
Our HiSET Prep classes blend individual learning with group activities to create an engaging and supportive environment. You’ll benefit from:
- Individual learning through IXL.com, with teacher and volunteer support
- Workshop-style math classes
- Group activities that enhance the learning experience

- Free access to IXL.com for both in-class and at-home learning
- Advising sessions available upon request
- Guest speakers from various organizations to share educational opportunities and resources
- Chromebook Lending Program, allowing you to borrow a Chromebook for a month at a time
