We’re thrilled to invite you to join our vibrant ESOL program at the Jackson/Mann Community Center! Whether you’re just starting out with English or looking to advance your skills, we offer six levels of ESOL classes designed to help you succeed.
When you apply, you’ll be invited to take a placement test to ensure you start at the level that’s perfect for you. This test covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Since enrollment depends on seat availability, we’ll add you to our waitlist if we’re full. The good news is our program has open enrollment, so you can begin your journey with us at any time of the year!
To stay enrolled, you’ll need to attend at least 75% of classes and take standardized tests to track your progress.
Programs
ESOL Evening Classes
- Levels 1 - 3: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Levels 4 - 6: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- In person
To help you succeed, all enrolled students get free access to Burlington English, which you can use both in the classroom and at home. Plus, we offer optional conversation groups on Monday evenings and tutoring sessions for students who need extra help.
These classes are being offered from September 2026 to June 2027.
ESOL Afternoon Classes
- High Beginner English: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- In person

ESOL for Parents
- Beginner and Intermediate
In partnership with English for New Bostonians, we offer Beginner and Intermediate ESOL classes for parents and caregivers with school-aged children (enrolled in Boston Public Schools or any other school system). In these classes, you will improve your English skills while learning how to navigate the U.S. school system so you can actively support your child’s education.

- ESOL Conversation groups on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

- Guest speakers from various organizations to share educational opportunities and resources.
- Chromebook Lending Program, available to all enrolled students.
